Story Time With Ms. Brittany

Join celebrated children’s author Brittany Petish on an interactive story time and nature activity.

What to expect: Come for this special story time at Arabia as we connect literature with nature and some animals that make their home at the Nature Preserve. We will gather in the Nature Center for check in and introductions before heading to the outdoor classroom right next to the Nature Center. Ms. Brittany will introduce and read her book, then participants will be invited to participate in an interactive nature-centered activity.

Program leader: Your guide will be Ranger Karsten Bobb, a DeKalb County Park Ranger at Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve.

Where to meet: Enter the parking area by the Ragsdale House (3899 N Goddard Rd) and find Ranger Karsten or Ms. Brittany down the trail on the left by the picnic tables and fire pit.

What to bring: Wear comfortable footwear, dress for the weather, and bring a refillable water bottle. There will be seating around the firepit, but if you’d like to bring your own folding chair, you’re welcome to.

Restrooms: Public restrooms are available at the portapotty between the picnic tables and parking area.

Recommended ages: This program content is designed for children and their parent/guardian, but all ages are welcome.

Dogs: This program is NOT appropriate for dogs, so please leave your pup at home.

Weather contingency: This program will be held indoors if there is rain or other inclement weather.

Walking distance: Less than a quarter mile

Exposure: The story time area is under shade, but part of the program may happen in full sun.
